Ardra S. Nair, a young trailblazer to hold BIRAC’s prestigious social innovation fellowship with a vision to build a better environment cared to notice the often-neglected ecological problems. Through the lens of social relevance during her Internship in Entrepreneurial development at her university together with T.U Delft University, The Netherlands, she has been actively working toward building holistic sustainable solutions since 2018. Her start-up Ecoloop 360 serves a vision to bring climate positive solutions for a greener future. Ardra completed her master’s in Translational Engineering and as a result of her interdisciplinary studies, her inspiration to contribute to a greener future grew further. Ardra addresses societal and environmental issues with much rumination and deliberation. Eventually, she conceptualized and developed a graceful yet eco-friendly packaging material that can be an alternative to single-use plastics. This can be considered a game-changer in the world of packaging, putting this flourishing industry in safer hands.
Our goal is to lead a significant transformation in the packaging sector by guiding it away from traditional methods and towards an unwavering commitment to environmentally friendly alternatives. Our goal also includes developing eco-friendly supply chains that place an emphasis on ethical behaviour, low carbon footprints, and responsible sourcing. This all-encompassing strategy guarantees that each stage of the packaging process is in line with the sustainability of our world. Come along with us as we reinvent the history of packaging. Let's shift it from a polluting factor to an agent of progress. Together, we are shaping a future in which packaging not only does its intended role but also serves as a symbol of our commitment to our planet.
Nestled in the picturesque coastal town of Alappuzha, located in the southern part of India, our founder found herself surrounded by the mesmerizing beauty of the region's waterways and lush greenery. It was here, amidst this natural splendor, that she witnessed the thriving coir industry that has long been an integral part of the region's heritage. Alappuzha, often referred to as the "Venice of the East '' due to its intricate network of backwaters, is renowned for its rich tradition of coir production. The abundance of coconut palms along its coastline provides an endless supply of raw material for the creation of various coir products, ranging from mats and rugs to ropes and brushes. However, with the prosperity of the coir industry also came a significant challenge – the staggering amount of waste generated from coir fiber processing. Piles of discarded coir husks and fibers, resembling mountains in their scale, dotted the landscape, posing a pressing environmental concern. Driven by a deep sense of responsibility and a vision for sustainable change, our founder embarked on a journey to uncover the latent potential hidden within this surplus fiber. Through meticulous research and unwavering dedication, she recognized an opportunity to transform this waste into a valuable resource, by turning these mountains of waste into opportunities for sustainable innovation.
